The petition powers on!

We’re charging ahead in our petition drive, with more than 1,200 signatures collected so far. (A quick trip to the Chatfield dog park on Sunday yielded 50 more!)
Three quick updates:
ONE: We’re aiming to get as many names as possible before the next County Commissioners meeting, June 20. We’ll be collecting all completed petition forms sometime on Sunday, June 18 (details to follow).
TWO: Attached are two PDFs: one of a landscape version of the petition page and one of a sheet of the little petition cards (cut them out and pass out to anyone who’d rather sign up online or who might share the petition with friends).
THREE: Over the next two weeks, please take a petition sheet (or cards) with you if you go to any other dog parks. Beyond that, we are reaching out to the general public as well as mountain bikers and runners, who probably support off-leash trail designations (runners often want to run with their dogs, and mountain bikers know that leashed dogs and bikes are a disastrous combination). We’ve attached a list of events in the area occurring before the 20th (see below).  Some are general-interest (like the Lakehouse Concert here in Evergreen), others are running and cycling events.
Please consider attending one or more of these events (lots of them serve beer!). And if you do, PLEASE bring a petition sheet and fill it up. (We’ve asked for permission to petition at two of these events. If we get the go-ahead, we’ll arrange to have a table and signs there and will start asking for volunteers to staff it—so stay tuned.)
As you gather your signatures, please make a note (in pencil or on the back of the page) noting where and when you got them (doesn’t have to be super-precise, just the date or date range). Try to fill the pages completely (25 lines per page), which will make it easier for us to tally the results. Hang on to the pages and we’ll let you know how we’ll be collecting them on Sunday.

Thanks again for your efforts! The petition and card PDFs are at the bottom of this message.
