Speak Now or Forever Hold Your Leash—Friends of Evergreen Dog Park #BarkBack continues—
On May 16, FEDP members will meet at the JeffCo Board of County Commissioners for our biggest BCC showing yet. We will present our case, individually, to the commissioners at their weekly public meeting, where any individual may speak for up to three minutes on any topic he or she chooses. Speakers needn’t be residents of JeffCo, as JCOS is funded through a 0.5% local sales tax (meaning anyone who spends money in the county has a say in this matter). We are choosing to speak about our park: What it means to us, how much we value it, how much we (and our dogs) need open spaces, here in Evergreen.
FEDP is asking everyone who is concerned about our park (and our now-paltry off-leash options) to come along and show their support. Even if you don’t want to speak, you’ll be helping our cause simply by being there. (And wear a white shirt, if possible—we’ll be wearing white to show our solidarity.) If you can attend, please visit our page at www.signupgenius.com to let us know.
